STATEMENT / BIOGRAPHY
For over 2 decades artist Randy Richmond has utilized the medium of photography
to observe and record the world around him. There have been times when the
landscapes he has created have been purely fictional and times when they have only
seemed to be fictional in their innate simplicity and unvarnished truth. In either case
there is always something left to the imagination for the viewer to enjoy.  They are a
playground to wonder, think, and realize we actually haven't "seen everything".
Richmond's goal has always been to learn new ways of looking at things and utilizing
the photographic medium in new and different ways. Richmond is fond of pointing
out that "when we break through the walls of preconceived ideas about how an
artistic medium should look or feel then we are able to communicate past the
barriers of everyday life and the differences in our own experiences."

Randy Richmond has participated in many solo, invitational, and group shows
across the country and in Europe. He has been accepted to the international
traveling small print exhibition "America's Biennial" twice.  Along with exhibiting his
work, Richmond also teaches when the opportunity arises. Past teaching
experiences include workshops at the Peninsula Art School in Fish Creek, WI.
