GARDENSTOCK is an annual art & music festival put on by Distinctive Gardens of
Dixon, Illinois, which raises funds for a different non-profit organization each year in
which 100% of all proceeds go to the beneficiary. Gardenstock is the brainchild of Bud
LeFevre, owner of Distinctive Gardens. "I've always wanted to use the business grounds
for a fundraising event like this. The thing that is most important to me is that 100% of
the donations go to the Sinnissippi Center's Gardening Program. All event and
promotional costs are paid by Distinctive Gardens and all of the bands in the line-up are
donating their time", says LeFevre. “We want people to come out, enjoy the entire day
and bring the entire family. Throw a chair or blanket in the car, and bring a picnic basket
along with all the fixins’,” added LeFevre.
After last year’s fantastic community turnout and support the Sinnissippi Center’s Youth
Gardening Program not only staved off budget cuts, but actually grew. In fine “pay it
forward” community spirit, the gardening program donates all produce to the Dixon Food
Pantry. This is a direct result of the community coming out to Gardenstock, opening their
wallets, and supporting a great cause.
