Hope Greene
Hope Greene was born in
Maryland, United States. She
studied photography at the School
of the Art Institute of Chicago in
Illinois and at the University of the
Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,
graduating in 2001. Since that time
she has worked as a freelance
photographer, living and working in
the United States in Philadelphia,
in the United kingdom near Leeds,
and in Italy near Siena. Her
photographs have been exhibited
internationally. Hope has now
returned to her native United States
where she currently lives in Illinois,
continuing to develop and exhibit a
growing body of work.

Maize series
Inside a cornfield, the stalk close over your head blocking out everything but a few simple
elements, wind, sky, land, the rattling corn, and one's own mind. This seres of images
describes the complex and beautiful interactions constantly taking place in a humble and
anonymous field.
Each print is made using traditional darkroom techniques and then toned in selenium and
sepia. Since the process is manual, no two prints are exactly the same.
The note cards are printed digitally, each made with individual care by the artist.
