Call us the Sahara of the mid-west.  This is the
driest summer in a long while.  We've got a
chance of rain for the next week, but it is still dry
on the moisture maps and you need to keep an
eye on your garden babies.  New plantings
need an extra eye of attention on their moisture
to stay healthy and prepare for a strong and
successful over winter.

Tips for tree watering
Watering is sometimes a tricky little endeavor.
Many times we think we've watered and in fact
we've only given the troops a light bath.  The best
way to check for watering needs is the super
duper high tech method.  This will require two
things: A. One good eyeball; B. One functional
finger.  Look to see if your baby is wilting.  Feel to
see if it's bed is dry. (Finger in ground, one inch
down!). If things are wilting or dry then water
throughly.  Remember,  water their feet and not
their heads!
